Filming done!

My group and I finished filming our music video. This week we have been focusing on the editing. We're going to spend the remainder weeks editing over and over again to try and make the best in can possibly be. 

Weather tomorrow

The weather doesn't look great tomorrow but hopefully it won't intervene with our filming. 

Filming on Monday was a success!

We went to streams house to film on Monday and everything went smoothly. We got bloopers and a wide range of shots.  

It was fun and productive. 

Since we managed to film all the house scenes in one day we took a day off on Tuesday. 

However stream,our actress, wasn't able to make it today since she had to work so the filming will be postponed to tomorrow. 

We'll go to South bank first, then to Norton rose and finally to St. Paul's cathedral. 

It's going to be fun! 

Blurry pictures!

I did a mini photoshoot on Monday, unfortunately the pictures I took came out blurry. I'm going to try to make it less blurry on photoshop.
I watched this video to help me.

Filming schedule!!!

My group and I plan to film every scene during the half term. We've planned the outfits the main cast is going to use as well as the locations we're going to film in. Hopefully we'll be able to film everything so that when we come back, we can focus on the editing.

FIRST OFFICIAL DRAFT!!!

I have started to play around on Photoshop. I decided to use a random artist to to test it out. 

I couldn't decide which one looked better so I took print screens of all three and I will ask the input of my peers.

Ancillary task!!!

This week I've started my ancillary task. I set up my website and created four pages. (Home, about the band, concerts and photo gallery) 

Since that is all set up, I can start editing the website.

Pitch done!!!!

Our pitch is finally done and edited. I spend a free period editing it. It is now ready to upload on our websites. 

Interviews

As part of my audience research, I decided to interview two fellow school mates. (Vicky and Naomi)

They helped me a lot and answered a couple of questions for me. Hopefully I'll be able to edit them and post them on my blog today. 

Also, tomorrow I'll be interviewing Natalie.  Hopefully she'll be able to give me some great feedback too. 

I'm almost finished with my chosen genre research and band research. As that has turned out to be very time consuming, I've started with my audience research and inspiration page. 

The Pitch

This week we presented our pitch to the year twelve and we handed out questionnaires to get some feedback. 

The feedback was kind of helpful. They gave us some ideas. They often mentioned how we took a bit too much inspiration from other videos and suggested that we should be a bit more original. 

I disagree with that opinion but I'll acknowledge the criticism. 

We'll shot a wide range of shots to make our video more authentic and hopefully that will make it more appear 'original'. 

Overall the feedback was good and I think we will take the feedback into consideration whilst story boarding. 

Problems...again.

There was another problem with the school Mac. iMovie wasn't working yet again. It deleted some clips from our Prelim so we have to do it again sometime this week or next week. 

Test shots!!!

My group and I have decided to do test shots. We've ready done two. The first one consists of a extreme closu up if Megan's eyes. 

The second one consisted of Yusupha standing in the middle of the hallways as people walked past him. Likky li I follow rivers inspired us to do this shot. In the real music video we'll use south bank as the location. We are planning to go there on Wednesday as all of us have the same   Free's on Wednesday. 

I'm looking forward to film on Wednesday! It will give us a insight on how it will turn out when we film our music video. 

Goals, goals and more goals.

The goal for this Thursday is to be halfway though with my indie rock music research. 

Today I managed to complete the four genre researches  on lined paper. All I have to do now is type it up on my website and create a short goanime. 

On Thursday I'll get started on the Pitch. We've already started our Prezi presentation and we got a rough draft of our questionnaire.

All we have to do is add a bit more detail and we should be all set for Monday. 

Unfortunately today we weren't able to upload the finished version of our Preliminary task due to some technical problems with the Macs. 

Hopefully this reoccurring problem will be solved once and for all! 

Hit me baby one more time!

This week my group and I, have started our preliminary 'hit me baby one more time' by Britney Spears. As Precious's friends were quite keen to be apart of it, we didn't have to search long for a cast. 

We made sure that the cast had the same free's on Wednesday as us. Especially Jade who is starring as Britney to avoid any complications. 

We story boarded the video scene by scene so that we could copy the video down to a T. 

As the video is originally set in a school, we just used our school's classrooms to film. It was extremely fun to film and edit. 

As Yusupha did most of the editing, Precious and I did the editing. 

We haven't completely finished editing but I should be finished with the final touches by the end of Monday. 

A2!!! Let's get started!

For our A2 Portfolio, we will be making a music video. My group(Precious&Yusupha)and I picked the track Promises by Cloud Control. We believe it's a great song, we already discussed the type of video we would like to make it over the summer. We met up in the holiday to have a discussion and gather all of our ideas. 

We all agreed on making a narrative music video so that we will be able to be extremely creative with the story telling while simultaneously connect with the audience. 

We believe that a performance video would limiting ourselves as there isn't much we could do. The video would eventually become boring. 

We also thought that a concept video would be too random, our project would overall be more enjoyable if it had a storyline so that we could relate both the lyrics and the music to the visuals. 

A combination of a performance and narrative video wouldn't be too bad but we decided to just focus on the narrative part. Lip synching is extremely corny so we opted out that idea. 

We already came up with a number of great ideas. My initial idea was that we could have a couple going through a break up. 

Yusupha's idea was that we could have multiple young people with different talents. The talented individuals would go through trials and tribulations in irder to achieve their ultimate goal at the end. 

Precious' idea was similar to mine but more elaborated. As it was the best idea we decided to stick with it. 

The idea was that a girl suffering from depression was on the verge of commiting suicide due to her lovers death. The video would then cut to their happy moments in their relationships before it climaxes to an end where she drowns herself. 

I believe it's a great idea and Im super excited to officially start filming. 

BUT FIRST  we need to film our preliminary task...which is due on Friday the 12th of September.
